Dr. Moataz Nashaat El-Helaly is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Data Analytics at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he teaches and conducts research at the Onsi Sawiris School of Business. He previously held academic positions at the American University of Beirut (AUB), the British University in Egypt (BUE), Aston Business School (UK), and the German University in Cairo (GUC).

He earned his PhD in Management (Accounting) from Aston University, UK, following an MSc and BSc in Management from GUC. He is a certified Engineer in Training (EIT), an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA, UK), and holds professional certifications from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in International Financial Reporting (CertIFR) and Data Analytics (CertDA).

Dr. El-Helaly serves as a Lead Expert at the Global Research Excellence Academy (GREA), where he contributes to advancing global research collaboration in accounting, finance, and analytics. His research interests include corporate governance, related party transactions, auditing standards, financial reporting, ESG performance, and the integration of AI and data analytics in accounting education.

He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in top-ranked journals such as Finance Research Letters, Managerial Auditing Journal, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Research in International Business & Finance, and the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing & Taxation. He is also an active ad hoc reviewer for several international journals and a member of panels supporting Fulbright and AAA conferences.

As an educator, Dr. El-Helaly has designed and delivered a wide range of undergraduate, MBA, DBA, and executive training courses, including Accounting Analytics, Taxation, Financial Reporting, and Data-Driven Decision Making. He is also a frequent keynote speaker and workshop leader on AI applications in accounting research and education.
